Things That Rock My World At The Moment...
I'm too tired to write a real blog entry (I wrote about 15 pages on my Film Appreciation Midterm a couple hours ago), but seeing how tomorrow is my Mama's day off I wanted to post something for her to read.
Here are a few of my favorite things at the moment:

Piaget's Theory of Cognitive Development. We were able to observe 5 babies between 3 and 10 months of age today in my Developmental Psych class. I think I'm in love with one of them, her name is Zoe. She was SUCH a doll. I even got to hold her for a few minutes. Wasn't able to convince her to give me her phone number, though...

U2's new album, No Line On The Horizon. Probably my favorite album from them in 10 years. SOO good!!

Lamb chops. I had something not unlike these for dinner at Lamb's (go figure) tonight, which is maybe my new favorite place Downtown. It has great history (opened in 1919), sweet as pie waitresses, fantastic old men in tweed jackets at the bar yelling at the newspaper while nursing a cup of coffee for 45 minutes (in spite of the fact Lamb's offer free refills), and mint jelly. Mint jelly+lamb chops=YUM.

So...
I've found that Facebook is a lot easier for posting photos (at least for me) than Blogger, so I've put a bunch of new photos up on there, but I'm going to use this just for written updates and such.
It's been a really busy few weeks, lots of tests and such... I had two on thursday, and I haven't heard back about either of them yet although I really felt like they both went pretty well. History better than Personality Theories, but both were good. It's a great feeling to be at this phase of my life. I've worked for a long time to be here, so to see myself finally get to this point is a dream come true.
Work is still going really well, I LOVE my job. If you haven't heard, I'm tutoring 1st graders to help them improve their reading skills, and I'm also helping out with a class of 3rd graders in the after school program.
My CD's sold about 250 copies at this point, which is sometime I'm really proud of and happy about honestly since it's all been pretty much word of mouth so far. I'm going to be playing a few shows next month (Basically I looked at my school syllabi, and saw that I had the least going on this semester in about a 3 week span, including spring break, so I've lined up a few gigs. Should be fun!!), including an in-studio performance on the student radio station at the U that's been playing a couple of my songs.
In other music news, I've been talking with a gentleman from the Utah chapter of the MS Society about releasing an EP to raise money for MS research. I don't know anything about when or what it'll be, but it's in the works and I think it'll be out by May.
Here's a link to the photos I posted on Facebook, I THINK this link should work for people who aren't signed up to FB, but I'm not sure, so let me know if it doesn't:

Latest Updates!
I'm in Utah!! School started yesterday, I LOVE my classes so far. It's going to be some getting used to, but I'm really excited at the opportunity I have to begin a new life. It's gonna be really fun once I get settled in.
I'll post photos soon!!
Also, I finally finished my album! Everyone that's heard it so far has been really positive about it, which makes me incredibly happy. It feels great to have it finished as well. If anyone wants a copy, let me know.
Anyway, just wanted to put something up here, I'll write more later.

Musings On Becoming Edward Cullen
a) Have incredible hair
Sadly, this is going to be a problem for me. As anyone who's seen me in the last, oh, 10 years could tell you, my hair is an endangered species. I've tried my best to protect it and keep it from extinction, but it's at a dangerously low level and has yet to breed in captivity.
b) Be athletic
Not only does Edward Cullen play baseball, he plays it at supersonic speeds. If this is (as I've come to believe) a factor in the development of my dreaminess I am, in a word, screwed. Oh and to add insult to injury he can stop minivans with his bare hands AND juggle apples on his feet just for kicks and giggles. I'm doing well if I can open a jar of Miracle Whip without someone stopping and offering me a hand because they "feel like it's the right thing to do."
c) Have an undiagnosed borderline case of Aspergers Syndrome
What's Aspergers Syndrome you ask? Basically it's borderline Autism and is defined by a failure to react appropriately to social interaction and may appear as a total disregard of other people's feelings to the point of total insensitivity. Referenced from DSM-IV:
"People with AS may analyze and distill their observation of social interaction into rigid behavioral guidelines and apply these rules in awkward ways-such as forced eye contact-resulting in demeanor that appears rigid or socially insensitive. The lack of demonstrated empathy is possibly the most dysfunctional aspect of Asperger syndrome. Individuals with AS experience difficulties in basic elements of social interaction, which may include a failure to develop friendships or to seek shared enjoyments or achievements with others, a lack of social or emotional reciprocity, and impaired nonverbal behaviors in areas such as eye contact, facial expression, posture, and gesture."
I'm not sure this is such a bad thing to NOT be. However the flock of sweatpant wearing 50 year olds who swooned over Mr. Cullen tonight at the Fair Oaks Theater leads me to believe that I may be even more off the mark of what women want than I previously believed.
If you can live up to these terrific standards, congratulations!! You're Edward Cullen. No one else could possibly be that, well, DREAMY.
I FINALLY SAW TWILIGHT!!!

Happy 2009!!
Yeah, I'm pretty much overjoyed that it's now 2009. Actually, I'm more overjoyed that it's not 2008 any more. I had some really great experiences last year, but at the same time I just never really got the hang of it. It's hard to explain. I'm really glad the wheels fell of so many things though, in some ways. It makes it a lot easier to move onto the next stage.

I've sort of started packing, haven't gotten too far yet... I'm getting myself mentally ready, although I don't think it'll hit me until I'm already up there.
Hope the New Year is wonderful for all of us, or at least better than this last one.
In the spirit of the New Year, here are some photos that make me smile:
